4 tips to use when Outsourcing your B2B Lead Generation

Posted by Owen McGab Enaohwo

1. Do the numbers and calculate the Cost-Benefit ratio.

Remember that lead generation is a process. There should be clear metrics.
Get to know your vendor in a personal way to fight the “it’s out of my control” feeling. Measure your vendor by their responsiveness and interest in you, not just in results.

Manage your expectations. Most leads will be general interest and you need to establish a feedback mechanism to rate the quality of the leads. Strategy improves results.

2. Negotiate a win-win deal that benefits you and the lead-gen company.

I have had extensive experience with lead generation and I would recommend the following 3 things:

1.) Verify the leads are only being sold to your company.
2.) If the quality of leads are poor, negotiate to pay for each account closed vs. per lead.
3.) Call the lead ASAP. You are 22 times more likely to close a lead you contact within the first 5 minutes of their inquiry.

When I’ve implemented this, it was a win-win. I generated more profit and so did the lead generation company.

3. Make use of a Predictive Dialing tool to speedup & automate your lead generation process

I have outsourced lead generation for sale leads. I have them visit local real estate relevant websites including craigslist to collect their phones. And at the end of the day I have them upload those phone numbers to a call system which is an auto dialer based software which if the lead answers the phone they get transferred right away to a live sale member, but if they do not answer which is about 60% of the time the auto dialer leaves a pre recorded voice mail from me.

This allows us to speed up our lead generation and really automate it.

4. Telemarketing For Leads Works, But at some point you will Have To Pick Up The Phone!

A trained telemarketing team calls a select list for participants in my free business-building seminars for small business owners. Those interested are then sent an email. The list of “RSVPs” is sent to me daily. I mail them a USPS letter with ticket and flyer. Then I call each one personally & get them talking about their business.

They also get a reminder email. 35% actual show up. They get a call after the program for an appointment, also outsourced to the same team. A system – and it works!
