How to get a Higher Rate of Response for your Direct Mail by using Personalized URLs (PURLs).

In the third episode of Cool Tool Review I got Marty Thomas; CEO of Purlem to come on the show and demonstrate to us how his online automatic Personalized URL (PURL) generation tool will help you get a much higher rate of response for your direct mail. So what exactly is a PURL? A PURL is a dynamically created webpage designed to speak directly to your prospect or customer on a personal level. It is usually customized to have their personal information such as their names within the URL as well as on the webpage. For example Joe Smith receives a postcard from a pizza company and instead of a regular website URL on the postcard he sees; http://PizzaPurl.com/Joe.Smith. The true benefit of PURLs especially when used with direct mail is that it peaks the curiosity of the recipient because they will see their name in the URL and immediately enter it into their browser to see what messages awaits them.

How do I know this? Let just say I received a postcard from a car dealership in my city with my name in their URL. I usually would have thrown away their postcard but that time I was curious, I typed the PURL into my browser and was amazed to see my name was on the page with even more compelling content and a call to action. Seeing how they got me to react and take action, I naturally was curious to find out the technology behind the PURLs. I found a few companies providing PURLs to clients but their solutions were just too expensive. As a result of my research, I finally came across Purlem; which in my mind is a much more affordable option for small business owners who see the benefit of using such a tool in their direct mail.
